Watching my parents age rapidly over the past two years was a wake up call for me.

I have added this into my daily stretch routine and I've gotten to the point where I still need my hands on the floor to push to my knees, but from my knees I can stand up no hands. I'm working towards no hands at all.

So the talking point about undocumented immigrants receiving Medicaid/Medicare is referring to how when they walk into a hospital ER, the hospital treats them and tries to stabilize them so they don’t die. That is not ACA (the issue that is holding up the government being funded). That’s called human decency. That’s called making sure another human being, no matter who they are, doesn’t die. Regardless, that’s doesn’t fall under ACA. That’s part of the EMTALA act Congress passed in 1986. The law requires hospitals with emergency departments that accept Medicare to provide a medical screening exam and any necessary stabilizing treatment for an emergency medical condition, regardless of the person's insurance status or ability to pay. EMTALA only requires that a patient is stabilized, not that they receive comprehensive treatment for their condition if it is not life-threatening. If you’re upset that another human isn’t allowed to just bleed out in front of you and that yes ERs have to try and not let that person die… ummm

I personally think that basic human decency shouldn’t be dependent on immigration status.

I'm in a strange to me bed and have a cold, so I can't really make a fair judgement on sleep yet 😷

No gym this month since I'm not at home, but walking a ton. Went from about 2,000 steps a day to 10-13k a day! Loving exploring my temporary neighborhood!
