The is no limit to how much brutality the Trump admin is willing to allow Russia to get away with. They have never once condemned a single atrocity committed by Putin. Trump played golf while this happened and didn’t say a word about it.

I like that I just heard @mollyjongfast.bsky.social on TV say this is in part a response to Democrats failing to address corruption after the first Trump term—so that this is a battle between those who would cave & those who want to fight. Ppl are not just mad at Trump; they’re mad at their leaders.

This was prevented by the post-Watergate legislation: lobbying, campaign finance, foreign interference, the budget. On the watchtowers, we fell asleep. The lawyers and lobbyists burrowed and darted from shadow to shadow. The rich man's money won out. Every reform was undermined or gone.

Do you blame them? I do not

If we have normal elections, and Democrats are able to get back in power we need to take a long hard look at how to enact the same kind of anti-corruption laws that helped prevent another Nixon for decades and decades and decades.
