Biggest concern from the Carney drive: there was nothing on that drive that they could not have done with Filardi in the game. Carney might be a better runner, especially in this scheme, but that suggests he maybe should have started the game.

That fourth down conversion... a different run look. Lean into that.

They're up to 208 yards, coming in 147 on six plays and 61 on the other 25 for 2.44 yards per play otherwise. Orange defense just can't break.

And with UNC at 31 plays and SU at 26, they hopefully won't be too gassed.

Just get to half with nothing crazy. Take the lead into the locker room and regroup.

UNC has five drives so far, gaining 132 yards. 93 of those yards are on four plays, so their other 17 snaps are gaining 2.3 yards a play. Orange defense just can't break.

Syracuse escapes, 76-66. More bad than good tonight, if you keep in mind the goal is getting back to the NCAA Tournament. Being an exhibition means you can shrug off a lot of it, but concerns about the big picture.

Buffalo has made six straight shots.

Freeman traveled at least twice on that possession, moving his pivot foot. Maybe put a pin in that for when the games count.

Nate Kingz has a 3.8% usage rate with 3:07 to go, which is a crime.

Just for the record, Kyle shot just over 60% (121-of-200) at the line over two full seasons at South Dakota State.

A little surprised the Orange have played straight man-to-man thus far. One of the reasons to build a roster like Autry has for "positionless basketball" is to be able to switch up and down the lineup. It's exhibition, so maybe they're sitting on it, but, it makes a fella wonder...

39-27 at half, Orange. They had just one turnover in the last 7 1/2 minutes, which is a big improvement. Half of their shots were 3's (7/12 on 2's, 6/12 on 3's). Defense was pretty good, but Buffalo was voted 11th in the MAC preseason coaches poll (13 teams), so grain of salt.

8 turnovers in 12 1/2 minutes of play. A lot of them are from just sloppy, casual play. Really would like a much clearer sense of purpose in the second half (I doubt that will come from a timeout).

It's an exhibition game, but really don't like that they do not have a real play for an inbounds with one second on the shot clock. You don't have to show off what you really want to do, but to act like there's 15 on the clock is bad.
