2 Teen Mariachi Musicians Released From ICE Detention

Two teenage brothers and mariachi stars who visited the White House last summer were just released with their family from ICE detention centers in South Texas — immediately following the visit of a delegation of Democratic lawmakers who pressed for them to be freed.

This brand specifically markets its products as being better and made of safer materials than ordinary bottles—that’s their whole brand—and they’re seemingly minimizing the fact that they used lead paint on something that’s gonna be in direct contact with babies and food🙃

The company charges over $30 PER BOTTLE for these “premium” glass baby bottles and they can’t even be bothered to make sure not to use lead paint on them.

Letting these ship without checking them is bad enough, but using bots to claim it’s “not a big deal” instead of recalling them is disgraceful.

I say this because as gas prices rise, many people are simply going to be forced to eat those costs and potentially go further into car-related debt. They don't live in areas with robust transit or with safe bike infrastructure. The pain they will feel is the result of decades of inaction.

Americans are addicted to cars, but in many ways it's a forced addiction. Decades of policy have made cars the dominant mode of travel at the expense of others, and marketing reinforces the car as the "best" choice. This isn't to excuse individual choices, but car dependency is a systemic issue.
