Lots of speculation about the attacker in the school shooting in Örebro, Sweden today. Especially about motive, ethnicity. Worth remembering that last two major school attacks in Sweden in 2015 (4 dead, a hate crime targeting minorities) and 2022 (2 dead) were committed by white Swedes.

The crash happened between 1-2 am UTC, and metadata shows the CNN articles in the viral screenshots were published at 2:40 am and 3:20 am UTC.

NYT published roughly the same time, further disproving the idea that CNN had some corrupt head start.

One viral misinfo narrative following the Washington DC plane crash is that @cnn.com knew about the crash "hours" before it happened and published their article in advance.

Metadata refutes this, as does a CNN spokesperson speaking to @logicallyfacts.com.

Why so repetitive?

Because propaganda grows with repetition; it’s known as “the Sleeper Effect”. Even if you know something to be false, seeing it over and over again can grow traces of doubt.
