G.O.P. Spending Bill Would Force $1 Billion Cut to D.C. Budget Republicans omitted a standard provision approving the District’s budget in a stopgap funding measure needed to avert a shutdown before the end of the week. The result would be a 16 percent cut.

For those who don’t understand the challenge of living in DC. There’s no other municipality in the country for which Congress can invalidate a balanced full year budget passed by the people’s elected representatives, and halfway into the fiscal year at that. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/10/w...
