Depending on how this upscaling is implemented, the models used may be the same as those used in GenAI, trained on the same stolen data and all. It's common for generative models to be used for other purposes besides generation alone. Example tasks include image editing and "super-resolution."

The spotlight briefly glanced back at us in 2020, when some bronies tipped off mainstream news organizations (like The Atlantic) about the Nazi problem in the fandom. Unfortunately, many are too complacent to route them out, and the Nazis only dug their roots in deeper.

The reason provided by the statement is slightly inaccurate, but yes, Calpain disliked Sethisto for a multitude of things, including his slant towards the fandom's 4chan- and right-wing.

I hear this (equivalent) advice given a lot for musicians. It's good to listen to pieces outside your genres/styles of choice to broaden your creative scope.

It can also extend to listening to things that aren't inherently musical, like the sound composition (dialogue, SFX, BGM) of a show.

And when you look at the majority of anti-furry bronies' accounts and see their embrace of 4chan culture, use of slurs, a certain affinity with the Third Reich... it's always veiled queerphobia and bigotry.

Especially if they're from a community with a similarly negative or "cringey" stigma, e.g. the brony fandom. (This is not a hypothetical nor a fluke)
