it's wishful thinking. i also think folks just get so caught up in their lies they believe them. i just wonder if we let them know there's a way out through compassion, that they might try it

I'd have forgiveness in me for them for that. Not necessarily trust, or friendship. Not a free pass. But I'd have forgiveness. I hope we all would. But it starts with self reflection and courage, and ACTION. I wish that upon them. I want to live in that world.

It may look NOTHING like the life they had. They may have to get new careers, new social circles. But they would be spared the internal anguish of living with the lies. And having to stack upon those lies. They could take that damned backpack OFF.

If they truly expressed their honest regret. If they fell at the feet of the betrayed. If they lived with the results.... maybe there's not full redemption or full forgiveness for them on the other side, but I do think that there is healing. I do think there is a better life for them.

What if we lived in a world where the perpetrators of dishonest smear campaigns against good people just STOPPED, owned up to it. Faced the just consequences for their actions. Did the self work to address whatever internal suffering that caused them to harm others. Became advocates for change.

This situation has been such a mess. I appreciate the name check (truly) but ultimately I just believe in you and the team we assembled, so damn much and am excited for the future of DesiQuest.

We’ll get through this. You know what they say: those who slay Gods together, stay together.
