A green subway barrier with a yellow and green light on top divide the foreground. Thousands of people fill the center of the image going back to some large buildings in the background
Throngs of people surround the statue at the center of Foley Square. A couple of Laborers International Union of North America 79 signs feature prominent in the middle of the foreground. Towering buildings reach into the sky. In the far distance, mist envelops the top of one particularly tall tower

A photo from the fountain at the center of Foley Square. People hold various signs and the crowd extends to the ends of the park. Tremendous buildings reach up to the top of the photo against an overcast sky
Some great turnout and clever signs in downtown NYC today. Labor, immigrant groups, healthcare providers, seniors, concerned citizens, etc etc. Also, scrubbing faces from photos is *tedious*, that’s why I usually don’t take them

@rolandfortexas.bsky.social is right. Jocelynn’s death is on the hands of Trump and those that spread his hateful, racist rhetoric.

In a just world, Jocelynn Rojo Carranza would still be with us today. She deserved to be protected from bullying and the harmful anti-immigrant rhetoric in her school.
