The SAVE Act is a bill so extreme that for most U.S. citizens - including married women who have changed their last name - a driver's license, birth certificate, or state ID would be insufficient to register to vote.

We should be making it EASIER for people to vote - not creating more barriers.

People need to be crystal clear about something: The requirement that the government ANSWER to a court on the legal basis for detaining someone is literally the core liberty right (habeas corpus). If the government says they don’t have to do that bc “national security,” YOU can be disappeared.

As I watch the horrific videos of alleged gang members being violently deported, I am also thinking about family separation during Trump 1.0.

I want to scream this from the rooftops: while you have every right to disagree with immigration policy, you have no right to willfully hurt immigrants. 1/

I think about that last sentence all the time - “a disease that will end your life” and how it isn’t true anymore. Sometimes I can’t even fathom that science has come so far and things have changed so much because I just remember how much was lost and what it took for us to get to this point.

Who would shut down pediatric brain cancer research? Someone w/o our country’s best interests at heart. People making decisions for reasons other than their constituent well being. This is horrible to post, but I may as well post it. We are essentially shutting down research operations in my group, which is focused on treatments for pediatric brain cancer. I’m a well funded investigator, and there’s no choice. Science can’t function without the stability of NIH

If Dems don't lead on issues, they will forever be playing compromise with Republicans and yielding victory to them.

Republicans are propagandizing the public and Democrats need to be leaders and stand up for what is right - not cower behind polls that Republicans have rigged through propaganda.

Homicides fell by more than half, from 56 in 2020 to 24 last year, data from the BPD show. That total is the lowest in 67 years, and less than 20 percent of the total in 1990, the city's most violent year on record.

That decline has made Boston an outlier among similarly sized US cities: In 2023, there were 150 homicides in Louisville, Ky.; 132 murders in Las Vegas; 73 homicides in Portland, Ore.; 85 in Denver; and 38 in El Paso, Texas.

Michelle Wu’s Boston is a success story the rest of the country needs to learn from.

Realizing my views on shoveling are similar to my views on tipping. Ideally the government would handle it, but while we advocate for that, refusal to tip/shovel only hurts those who most need the help.
