An Agape computer kit: the case is wooden and contains visible circuit boards and a keyboard with a blue overlay to label the buttons with speakers on either side of it. The lid is translucent blue acrylic and contains a screen that connects to one of the circuit boards with a pretty ribbon cable. Every month is Pride month here.
We're showing off the latest iteration of the Agape kit at the Canberra Vintage Computer Exhibition this weekend! Open to the public today until 3pm, it's great to finally be able to share the results of the latest months of development with more people! (And we're now taking orders!)

A picture of the Agape computer kit screen in a red case over a gradient that goes from pink to yellow. The screen is blank, except for a big thumbs-up emoji over the top of it.
Doing some early EMC testing at the moment so we can be ahead of the curve when we are ready to start producing consumer devices for sale. So far, it seems like the best way to keep emissions under control is to not display anything on the screen. Seems feasible.

A partial screenshot from the Agape computer kit world interface, showing a character named Roach using (unsurprisingly) the bug character model. The character and name are in black, which would once have blended in completely with the black background of that part of the interface, but the character name and icon are now on a contrasting white background.
Problem: anyone who selects black for their character colour is able to be completely invisible in user lists.
Solution: HIGHLIGHT OF SHAME. 😈

An assembled Agape computer kit sitting on one of those desks that's supposed to look like wood grain but obviously isn't. The base of the computer itself is a box made of wood though! The top half of the case is transparent blue acrylic and the keyboard is also blue. Little speakers are mounted on either side of the keyboard. The computer is switched on and the screen displays a cheerful grassy world with a pixel art-adjacent aesthetic. There are some wires and lovely rainbow ribbon cables visible here and there, the overall effect being of a delightfully hardware hacker-ish netbook.
Hi Bluesky!
The Agape computer kit is our response to the way tech these days seems to be about computers owning you rather than the other way around.
We're here to share our work with a wider audience as we refine our early prototypes and run alpha tests with our first 'real' (non-us) users!
