They weren’t. And it’s clear to see after the event. The plan was to build their business with other people’s money in my opinion. Always was.
Effectively they asset stripped and left a £33m fire sale. Again, my opinion.

Head filled with Heineken shares and other general hypocrisy. The BBC programme rips him apart.

He knew exactly what way the wind was blowing for some time and that’s why both of them resigned to distance themselves from the inevitable crash of the company. That’s my opinion.
That’s as corporate a move as you can get.
And still people think they are punk. 🤦🏻♂️

One thing more bitter than the crap BrewDog produced, it’s the fact that hundreds have lost jobs or investments, while James Watt and Martin Dickie are a lot richer thanks to everybody they took advantage of.
Watts book about business is testament to what a scamming twat he was in my opinion.
The two who founded BrewDog were as punk as Mother Teresa.
It was all a sham to get money into their company and their pockets. The only way to get money back was drink their beer at a discount
Pity it was mostly pish.
Proper hardcore bus boys would love this. Eh, @sav70.bsky.social?

I wasn’t serious mate. Sorry you took it the wrong way! I did understand what you meant, perhaps I could have been clearer.
The number of people who think some distilleries are in Speyside that are actually in Aberdeenshire amuses me.
This doesn’t stretch to Breweries!
Does look a good pint!
If keeping to whisky region terminology, Foggieloan isn’t in Speyside. 😉
Does look like a quality pour though.
BrewDog to be sold next week. German brew plant to be liquidated.
After the sale can we finally drop the “Punk”, “Craft” pretexts and stop pretending that they aren’t as corporate as everybody large brewery with its own pubs?
Just keep the area clean and and disinfected. Rotate the stud with clean hands while you do it. I also never got any issues for all 4 of my piercings.

Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine always cheers you up. Especially when you remember that they were the first to suss out Phil Schofield was a bad ‘un, so they gave him a punch.
Almost as good as hearing 5 Star being called “F**king crap” on Going Live.
I have to start drinking again and that is the set back.

Some were more combative and I feel let their emotions overcome thought and dismissed what I was saying.
I’m happy to find middle ground but you can’t grab one study and claims it proves everything. That’s confirmation bias in action. It became pointless to engage with them.
Sorry for War and Peace, but that’s my direct experience of it. Never had an issue wearing it when cycling either.

Hi viz would not have saved him but could have potentially changed the outcome.
Now hi viz on quayside mandatory. Also barriered walkways for personnel from gangway to safe area.
… turned around and walked in front of it. Due to the size of the forklift, the driver never even knew he had hit somebody.
Obviously lack of hi viz not the major reason, but would have given the driver more clue someone was close and he needed to drive further from containers and slow down.
The other major factor was fwd view of the forklift was partially obscured. The bosun was checking cargo, and the driver hadn’t realised people were in the area. He could see the containers but the bosun’s clothing blended into them. The bosun apparently missed the fact a forklift was close 🧵
22.02.2026 20:11 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Just so you know the background to my story - it wasn’t cycling based. The bosun on a ship I used to work on was killed on a quayside during mobilisation duties after a large forklift ran over him. One of the casual factors was found that he wasn’t wearing hi-viz vest. 🧵

Cheers for the pleasant conversation. I cycle (not as regular as some) and I wear Hi Viz plus a helmet. I can’t say I’ve noticed much difference in the past how close cars come until UK police started prosecuting drivers for it. Still inconsistent though.
I don’t cycle in congested areas.
Yup. If you want to see a perfect illustration of unsafe cycling, it’s often these people, especially the deliveroo style riders. Any late night city centre has them in droves.
And they don’t seem give other road users a second thought
That’s the problem. Inconsistent data.
I understand that there are a lot of dangerous drivers. But there are a lot of cyclists who don’t take safety seriously and sadly when the two meet, the outcome is rarely positive.
I completely agree.
There needs to be better studies, but the results could be seen differently by depending on the point of view of the person commissioning it, because the unknowns could skew it either way.
Heinrich law isn’t perfect but there is a lot more incidents unreported for every hit.
The point is those who aren’t impacted aren’t recorded.

Same in UK.
I live in a tourist heavy area with plenty of cyclists. The road network isn’t the greatest. I’d far rather wait behind a cyclist and hold traffic up rather than an unsafe overtake.
Sometimes though I wish the cyclists would realise they need to let traffic past in these situations.
I also find the noise of my wife farting quite amusing as she hates hearing folk farting and the obvious horror on her face when she trumps is comedy gold.

Funny that. My cousin came off his bike on a tarmac road going downhill. He hit a patch of grit. Racing wheel slipped, he came off and broke his pelvis and smacked his head off the road. His helmet was destroyed. He wasn’t.
You think helmets are a bad idea?
