Her parents were having a difficult time convincing her otherwise, but at one point her dad said "we need to study history to avoid making the same mistakes". Her response was... "Well, that's obviously not working so what's the point?"

This is what is wrong with our country.

Today I overheard a highschool girl complaining to her parents that she doesn't want to take history because it's not relevant and it won't help her get a job. She doesn't care who George Washington was and she doesn't need to know about slavery.
