We're doing a European wide study on the state of play, policies, union responses and we're working on exchanging and building best practices and capacity. We'll publish more soon.

Screenshot reading: in the last month I have had to deal with multiple instances of AI being used to bully other pupils, produce images that are offensive, cheat at homework, answer maths questions, write English speeches and even settle debates about who would win in a fight between a shark and a crocodile. The good, the bad and the trivial are here to stay – and teachers are being left to navigate this world largely alone, muddling through as best we can. We need guidance, training and support in how to use AI with pupils safely. But when each day we are having to plan and teach five lessons, attend a whole-staff meeting, run after-school intervention, mark a set of exams and call parents, time is limited.
Let's be honest, AI in schools is going exactly as expected - poorly
Problem with this piece is it then responsibilizes teachers to sort it out which seems pretty crazy given openAI is valued at half a trillion dollars and teachers are not valued much at all

A tweet from Morgan J. Freeman states: “FACT: Venezuela is NOT a major producer of cocaine. They do not have large cocaine factories. They do not produce fentanyl either. What Venezuela does have is the world’s largest oil reserves.”
Fentanyl and coke are the new “weapons of mass destruction” lie. It’s Iraq all over again, folks. It’s always about controlling the oil.

“We have been amazing allies” says Trump as our sovereignty goes down the drain and we capitulate to militarism, US hegemony and containment of China. We will inevitably be dragged into a war with our most important trading partner. A sad, dangerous day not a diplomatic triumph!

There must be a medical explanation for this madness.
South Korea pushed AI hard in schools. The national program was aborted within months, following massive pushback from students, parents and teachers, after a fortune had already been spent by both the government and education publishers

🤯 Can teachers be forced to make an "AI" avatar of themselves? Why is the government allowing this mass experimentation on children and teachers by a private entity? Is there any oversight whatsoever? Were teachers, students and parents part of the decision making process?

In Asia-Pacific and around the world, growing pressures on democratic institutions and shrinking civic space go along with increasing attacks on the autonomy of educators and researchers.
Education unions are leading the resistance. Defending academic freedom and democracy are top priorities.

Dear ABC News,
Why do you refer to Israeli hostages yet Palestinian prisoners? The word prisoner implies they've committed a crime. Yet you know almost all of the Palestinians were held w/o charge, trial or conviction. Words matter. Hostages on both sides. #Israel #Palestine #JournalismMatters
“From 1898 to 1994, the US successfully ousted a Latin American government at least 41 times. While US security interests may have often been cited as justification, economic interests often prevailed.”

World's media today will be full of emotive stories about the release of ~20 Israeli hostages held by HAMAS for 2 years. There will be no similar stories about the ~2000 Palestinian hostages to be released by Israel, many imprisoned for much longer.
Racist, much? That's x100 racist.
IF THIS IS NOT HOSTAGE TAKING, WHAT IS? Israel refuses to release Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya who insisted on staying with his patients in his bombed hospital even after his own son was murdered. Since then he has been held in one of Israel's torture facilities.

But 3 invasions of cities, one military buildup outside Venezuela, a government shutdown, and so many other things meant to distract have me convinced whatever’s in there is the biggest presidential scandal in U.S. history.
