A volunteer with @dcmigrantmutualaid.org was outside advising neighbors of their rights. Everyone is trying to get to their jobs safely this morning, but now afraid to just walk to the bus stop.

I went outside and they had let her go and were pulling away. They drove off presumably to continue pulling people over at random.

My neighbor was shaking, sobbing, traumatized, and just kept saying that she has a 5 year old daughter and she’s the only one she has here.

I am shaking. I woke up this morning in my normally quiet, peaceful DC neighborhood to a woman screaming outside. New York Times: ICE Imposes New Rules on Congressional Visits The policy specifies that ICE field offices are not subject to an existing federal law that allows members of Congress to make unannounced oversight visits to immigration facilities that “detain or otherwise house aliens.”

To be really clear: The reason members of Congress can't just walk right in is because of the guns. Armed DHS personnel won't allow entry. In other words, DHS is using armed force to *break* laws.
