Following that judgment, the State filed an application before the Court of Appeal seeking a stay of the decision.

GHAI: Buying off opposition: Risks in Nadco’s constitutional reforms There seems to be a generous package for the best loser, but with no guarantee that he or she would do anything useful

The petition arose from a February 2023 BBC documentary in which women accused Chebochok of sexual harassment and exploitation in exchange for employment. Despite public allegations, he was cleared to contest for the position of director at Tegat/Toror Tea Factory in Ainamoi Zone.

The bicameral Parliament was introduced as a remedy against the strong hold on power which the imperial presidency had developed between 1966 and 2002.
