Strength lies in mastering your emotions, adapting to challenges, and maintaining clarity under pressure. Success is not just about intelligence or talent but about resilience, discipline, and the ability to navigate adversity with composure.

For me it's because there are progressive churches that help those not helped by government, that welcome LGBTQ as members and clergy, that speak out against hatred and injustice and that foster civil discourse. To the original point, the big money in the front row were technocrats not theologians.

The most influential forces in our culture have mastered the technique of defining rivalries and then pitting sides against each other. Moving from where we are requires finding a common goal and working toward it, with others who want the same thing, even if we disagree about lots of other things.

Seems ironic. Those books likely express some version of "love your neighbor." You don't like how Christians fail to live up to that, then behave the same. Librarians get to curate their own libraries. Underlying free access to ideas is trust that people should be able to make their own decisions.

I'm trying to ask questions that make people think more foundationally. Is this what we signed up for? Is this what you stand for? Same approach, but now the consequences are more real to people. Also an idea for an app that would structure a constructive dialogue about what made America great.

Just have to say that the $Trump meme coin is a gift to all of us who are not fans of his.

It’s just a matter of time until a lot of people lose money from this.

I’m a crypto fan. This is not crypto any more than Madoff was just buying and selling shares of stock

When I think about Dr. King as a civil rights leader, I can't help but focus on the leadership part of his example. Leadership is about directing energy. His speech, while grounded in hard truths about racism, directed that energy in a positive direction.

Using Bluesky has made me realize how often I think about my likes and reposts influencing the narrative on other platforms. Here, it’s just my opinion, with no other agenda. Honest, and honestly freeing.

For more than 3 years, the Pasco Co. Florida Sheriff vigorously resisted a federal lawsuit brought by IJ challenging a controversial policing program that resulted in repeated harassment of children and their families.

Yesterday, on the eve of trial, the Sheriff capitulated.

Great article for explaining why the patterns we saw in the election didn't fit the model we're used to. The angry comments here support the case.

A person on a bicycle is by far the most energy-efficient among animals and machines per distance traveled relative to body weight. The bicycle is magic.
