Just sold a large chunk of my video game collection today. Almost all of my Zelda is gone (I had every variant of every single game). All my GameCube, Wii, Wii U, DS, 3DS, Sega CD and Dreamcast, most of my Genesis, N64, NES, SNES. Systems and games. Medical expenses suck the fun out of everything.

To put it in perspective, I have an abscess in my sigmoid colon that was measured by CT scan to be 2cm by 3cm across. Imagine a 1 inch by 1 inch bulb of infected flesh blocking your large intestine. It’s not enjoyable.

The surgeons said they were unable to operate without causing unnecessary complications, so o have the IV antibiotics followed by appointments and tests with specialists, followed by surgery later. I’m kind of freaked out by the idea of having a part of me removed but I know I’m in good hands.

So, update time. I was in the hospital last week with a bad diverticulitis flare up. I spent 5 days in the hospital, and now I’m on 2 weeks of IV antibiotics at home (I got a PICC line while I was in the hospital).
