This morning, the Trump Administration’s Department of War gave me an ultimatum: call up your troops, or we will. It is absolutely outrageous and un-American to demand a Governor send military troops within our own borders and against our will.

Governor Greg Abbott today signed House Bill 20 into law, which protects Texans from wrongful censorship on social media platforms. The Governor was joined for the bill signing by Senators Bryan Hughes and Representative Briscoe Cain, the bill's authors, as well as Senators Charles Perry, Dawn Buckingham, and Angela Paxton. The Governor named social media censorship legislation as an agenda item for the second special legislative session in August. "We will always defend the freedom of speech in Texas, which is why I am proud to sign House Bill 20 into law to protect first amendment rights in the Lone Star State," said Governor Abbott. "Social media websites have become our modern-day public square. They are a place for healthy public debate where information should be able to flow freely - but there is a dangerous movement by social media companies to silence conservative viewpoints and ideas. That is wrong, and we will not allow it in Texas. I thank Senator Bryan Hughes, Representative Briscoe Cain, and the Texas Legislature for ensuring that House Bill 20 reached my desk during the second special session."

The dude texted "I'm going to shoot protestors", then went and shot a Black Lives Matter protester. He was convicted in a jury trial.
Hard to find a more blatant example of celebrating political violence.
You need to know what might be coming.
Trump could have brought the nation together to confront political violence after the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Instead he appears to be preparing to use the shooting as a pretext to destroy his political opposition and consolidate power.
The amount of shit I got for this segment at the time was astronomical, and it was all from people who now stalk CVS employees to get them fired for insufficient online sadness.
Cheering on political violence is both evil and not new, an outgrowth of an internet intentionally dismantled years ago.
I’m more used to saying this to people on the Left than people on the Right, but, “hate speech” is not an exception to the First Amendment. “Hate speech” is protected by the First Amendment unless it falls into a traditional established exception.

This is not a joke. This is not normal.
Donald Trump isn't a strongman, he's a scared man. Illinois won’t be intimidated by a wannabe dictator.
About this Florida vaccine story:
When they were little - 1 yr and 3 1/2 - my two older boys, who’d had all their shots, got whooping cough.
We asked their pediatrician what would’ve happened if they hadn’t been vaccinated.
“Oh, they’d have died.”
That's not authority. Also, they're not terrorists, literal or otherwise, other than in the Dumb Person sense of terrorist = bad. Drug dealers do not tend to be ideology driven. Nobody is smuggling coke to take down capitalism.
