Is there ANY truth to the notion that plants can repel rats? I will line my whole fence with mint and rue if it will keep them away.

Last year I talked to the tenant. Reported it to the town. Town made them clean up the harborage and baited, but the same parts of the yard are all overgrown again. New tenants this year.

So my neighbors have a rat problem in their yard. Which means I have a rat problem in my yard.

Yesterday I rearranged all my pots (supposedly rats fear "new") and was sitting at the patio table reading about plants that repel rats, glanced over and a rat was two feet away. Seven pm, still daylight.
