So SCOTUS is leaning towards recognizing the First Amendment right to drive children to harm themselves? In the post-expertise world, we're just going to ignore the vast weight of professional medical opinion?

A principal difference between lying on FOX News and lying to a court of law is that the court looks to the lawyers to produce actual admissible evidence. Trump making up a fictional Portland doesn't pass muster in court

It's remarkable how he's just blatantly lying, imagining a Portland that has no relationship to reality, and his people all just nod as if the emperor had clothes.

While Trump whines about how the left is the only side engaged in political violence, it appears that his folks just engaged in terrorism against a sitting judge. Imagine if FOX gave this 10% of the coverage it gave to Kirk.

I just watched the film Children of Men with my daughter. An incredible film, a top five of all time for me.

I think Steven Miller may have seen this and thought the fictional England in the movie had a desirable approach towards immigration.

I strongly suspect Johnson knows absolutely everything Trump says, but he's trying to maintain some deniability, so that he's not held responsible for this stuff down the road. He knows Trump says a ton of things that aren't acceptable, but he can't say so

I really wish that FOX News would report this. You can sure see why State TV wouldn't.

So many people do not understand what's happening with the shutdown. Molly does a characteristically fantastic job of explaining it. I wish 100 million people would watch this.

Another win for the exception to the Unitary Executive Theory for things that would upset the bond markets.

In NBA game these days, a huge number of people are on their phones doing things related to their gambling on the game. And some people go crazy if someone makes or misses a shot, not in connection with the flow of the game, but because some bet did or didn't hit. Crypto ads are ubiquitous

Under Trump, the federal government is now a concierge service for those who pay tribute to him.

Is corporate media interested in a story about a homophobic right winger murdering a bunch of people? Or will we just hear more about Trump wanting to ban antifa?

Corporate media hardly cover climate change any more. And whenever I talk to a Republican friend, they're prone to saying things like "climate change is just a theory, it's unproven."

But the insurance industry KNOWS it's real, and they're protecting themselves against it

The corporate media are completely failing us. FOX is State TV. CBS is now State TV. CNN has a MAGA head. WaPo is libertarian/R coverage. NYT is a bit cowed.

Phony charges brought against former FBI head to punish him for criticizing Trump, and most media can't be bothered.

Russia collaborated with his campaign manager, but Manafort wouldn't testify against Trump. Hard to imagine he did all that without Trump knowing, though

I hate when people say something is a distraction. Troops to cities matter. Govt regulator attacks on late night comics matter. The Epstein files matter.

But people shouldn't lose sight of the the moves to speed up climate change to reward fossil fuel donors. It will be devastating to the planet.

I'm always intrigued by big corporations supporting this guy. I understand the hope that he'll be on their side if they give enough and buy his crypto, but who knows when his impulses will lead him to destroy a private company for no good reason. Why give him this power over you?

Thank you for your ongoing remarkable journalism.

I also suspect that the destruction of the CFPB has exacerbated and accelerated this problem.

You would think that even he knows that lying works better when the people you are lying to don't absolutely know that you're lying.

I wonder if some Republicans aren't starting to think "there are harmful consequences to this guy making the rest of the world think we're idiots."

Unbelievable that as the earth rapidly heats, species disappear, sea levels already rising, that our climate policy is not driven by science but rather by one man's impulses and grievances and his efforts to increase his personal wealth

This needs to be played on repeat for low information and low income voters?

The Court is dramatically reshaping our government to give more power to Trump, overturning a 90 year old precedent, without bothering to follow the normal order. They are badly damaging their claim to legitimacy
