Thank you to our Brookings Area Indivisible friends who braved the cold and wind to exercise their 1st Ammendment rights.

Thank you to everyone in our community who continues to keep the fire burning against injustice.

284 participants signed letters to Senator John Thune demanding action to uphold constitution. And a big thanks to the Cottonwood for holding space for the letter signing.

The violence and murders of all victims by ICE and Border Patrol Agents has been appalling and unacceptable. BAI sincerely regrets the miscommunication and takes full responsibility for it. We hope you will forgive us and continue to make your voices heard by our elected reps.

Our intent was for community members to tell Senator Thune what their individual red line was in the form of a personal letter.

Brookings Area Indivisible (BAI) would like to apologize to members of our community who were offended by the framing of this evening’s vigil. By asking Senator Thune what his red line is, we did not intend to imply that everything up to this point was still not crossing our, BAI’s, red line. (1/3)

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is inviting the community to attend a non-denominational service following the vigil at 7 pm. The service will be a time of reflection and a time to lament the state of our country. St. Paul’s is at the corner of 6th Street and 8th Avenue.

Hold the line with your neighbors. We stand together against injustice 1/26 6:00-6:30 at the Brookings Post Office.

The only way We The People stop what's happening, is if we stop pretending everything is normal. Tomorrow 1/23, if you can, don't go to work, don't go to school, don't buy anything. And if people ask why, say it's because we can't keep behaving like everything is ok.

Over 200 people showed up, with less than 24 hours notice, to join together and stand for those who are being targeted by ICE.

Now its time for YouTube. They've been better about who they show them to, but YouTube has been actively pushing ICE recruitment videos.
