It's definitely an interesting experience, though not one I could recommend to anyone who doesn't have several RPGs under their belt.

Thankfully you never lose too much progress in HD-2D since the game autosaves after every battle but it is a little annoying after a while, I can only imagine older versions are far more frustrating lol

I'll jump into DQ2 after I'm done with the first! 🫡

I think the Souped Up moves are supposed to help turn the tides in your favor when you're below 50% HP but SOMETIMES Pearly Gates just misses 3 out of 4 enemies and you die anyway for daring to defeat multiple enemies at once lol

Every time you think "oh DQ1 isn't that hard" the game will randomly put you up against a four-man arranged in a way where you can't defeat most of them easily and they all jump you with their hardest hitting attacks like alright man just sent me back to my autosave prior to this encounter then 🙄

DQ1 be going so fine until boom, you run into two Gold Golems and one punches you in the gut while the second obliterates your bones with a desperate attack, killing you instantly and sending you off with that fuckass game over jingle

ppl who still commission their favourite artists even in this era where everyone is broke and genAI is being pushed on us at every opportunity—you are appreciated more than words can express!!!

I like the OG FF7 well enough but the characters are so much more three dimensional in the Remake trilogy it's a glow up for everyone.

Also gameplay-wise it's the most fun game Square has made in like the past decade IMO, haven't become a sweat in a Square RPG since KH2FM 😅

Rebirth is so good...the streets could never make me switch up on that game 😁
