At the very least they'd be the ones held liable for the non compliance because you as a seller are not involved

I hated that smooth gradient so much, but what I'd come up with was either more computationally expensive, or looked bad
This one I like, and it's somehow slightly faster!!

If you're not paying for ads on Etsy you'll likely never be seen, unless you're in a small niche.
But for small niches the searches are so low that you'll have to bring the clients yourself from other sources anyway.
And with their embracing of AI sellers it'll just get worse.

Then I narrowed the search to "silver jewellery"
Everything seems proportionally similar so that's just how things are on Etsy.
I'll keep trying different terms, but what I get now is that you can't rely on Etsy for discoverability.

I don't understand when or how my allowed searches refresh but I just had 2 today so here are the results.
First I tried Jewellery at @/piratito.com 's request. it was not that different from jewelry, but it had some weird spikes in searches.
Still mostly really low searches

Apparently they'll release it to the general public later this year so hopefully they'll find a way to filter the bots. But knowing Etsy, they won't.

Jewelry was the worst thing I saw from my few searches I could do. Other things like stickers were getting way more searches. But I didn't search for 3D printed things so I don't know that data

They only gave me 15 free searches per week and I already used them
I also thought of that but I'd already ran out, I'll try next week

And there's also a bot issue. I saw this extremely specific search on the similar terms for "charm jewelry" and thought it was weird for it to have that many searches. But it was just a 48 hour spike
Which makes those low search numbers way worse if they are artificially inflated

Getting into a specific niche like gaming sure helps reduce competition, but the amount of people searching for it is also way smaller

I got "early access" to Etsy's "Marketplace Insights" and wow... things are bleak...
There are hardly any searches for jewelry, and there are literally millions of publications for many categories
