WW1, the availability of war surplus aircraft after it and the many flight schools that popped up, created an explosion of opportunity for female aviators.
E.g. the schools that didn't want take women quickly discovered that economically they needed to.
So today Nigel Farage gave us details of his ideas for economic and financial policies.
And what an absolute disaster they would be.
After years of Tory austerity that have crippled our public services and Liz Truss' disasterous budget he wants more of the same.

By far and away the best dietary decision you can make, for environmental, humanitarian and public health purposes, is to cut out animal products.

The UKβs independent scientific bodies are highly vulnerable to politicisation - over the past 5 months I've been working with @martinmckee.bsky.social to map out their vulnerabilities and it's not good news.

Amazing how meaningless a lot of the quotes are, even with the full context. Waffle and soundbites. What matters is the policy decisions that they take forward. We're far too easily swayed and misled by what politicians say, and don't look beyond it enough. (Farage is a great example of this).
