my new #aventio fan book
(( This thread is quite outdated now but I hope anyone who reads it enjoyed it ))
18.10.2024 22:25 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0for the next thread I repost here so you can get read it if you don't want to go and find it on twitter ))
This took me over 4 hours btw, nearly 5, and it's 4am rn so I'm suffering, I hope you people actually read all of this /lh
their comic (and in their Fyolai childhood AU comic too) they do a great job of humanising Fyodor.
I also talk a little bit more about some of the ideas presented in this analysis here in this thread if you're interested
(( I'm going to repost that thread here next, I will link it under this post
It was originally @/creantzy's Fyodor backstory comic that inspired me to write this so please take a look at if you haven't already, it's so good!
What I wanted with this analysis was to present a more human interpretation of Fyodor's character and in
x.com/creantzy/sta...
delving more on the "superhuman" vs "there's no such thing as a super-human nor average human" thing.
Maybe same Fyodor and Fukuchi parallels/similarities, many more things
I will likely rewrite this thread in the distant future to include those things
WOWEE that was long, though it could've been a lot longer since there are a lot of things I could've probably expanded upon in this analysis, like Fyodor's relationship with Sigma and Dazai, his and Dazai's similarities,
18.10.2024 22:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0If I'm right, if what Fyodors character is is just a lonely soul, motivated by selfishness and loneliness, then he may ironically be very human himself
Naturally as a species, we don't like feeling alone, and selfishness I would consider to be one of the most human traits of all
It's a rather self-centred motivation, and evidently in the series so far, at least to me, he has appeared quite self-centred, imprisoned by, and suffering from, his own self-imposed beliefs
18.10.2024 22:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0To at least feel equal among the rest, because once his mission, his life purpose of being God's servant is completed, everyone around him will be just like him, sinless, and therefore he won't be alone
18.10.2024 22:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Though don't misunderstand, selfishness I don't think equates to being 'bad' per se
Fyodor sees smth wrong with the world so its in need of his help, and once he is able to help it, erase its sin then perhaps the world will be perfect enough where he can feel true love and trust
As much as his goal, to create "a world without the sin of ability users" seems selfless enough in the grand scheme of things, I think rather it is the opposite.
If you were to read further into his goal, it's selfish, the epitome of selfishness
He says people are sinfully stupid, but this only applies to people he is able to reach.
Ultimately at the end of the day, he is just one man against a sea of uncertainty himself, which is why he tries to aim to reach that world by acquiring the book.
if they are absolutely certain they will be undefeated.
What Fyodor dislikes the most about sin is its unpredictability and irrationality, the unpredictable chaos that it can cause
It is those who aren't so perfectly sure that they can save others that are the strongest and the ones with the most potential to change the world as they are strong enough to face that uncertainty while Fyodor and Dazai can only face, or have the bravery to,
18.10.2024 22:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Dazai, someone who could be seen as a representative of the ada to Fyodor since he is the only ada member so far who has had direct interactions with Fyodor, believes that it is the "average" who make the most change in the world
18.10.2024 22:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0(So I'm sure Fyodor must be a big fan of Kunikida lmao)
18.10.2024 22:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0After all, a detective only solves crime, a crime after it happens, even if they have a strong sense of justice they cannot create a perfect world, and so they should have no right to oppose someone who /can/ or maybe even destined create that world.
18.10.2024 22:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0He essentially just views them as another group of average sinners who chase something as pointless as only a temporary sense of ease they can provide
They can solve and even prevent some crime, but they are not so superior on their own that they can completely eliminate it.
But unlike Sigma, Fyodor is pessimistic enough not to believe the ada is a provider of sinless love that is "mutually beneficial".
He even mocks it by calling it an "evening sunlight" and undoubtedly views the ada as an enemy, a sinful entity obstructing him from his objective.
even (his promised land).
Like how he likely relates to Sigma being an "ultimate stranger to this world", I think he may also relate to Sigma's desire of wanting unconditional trust (which could be sought from the ada as Dazai has evidenced to Sigma)
So perhaps, Fyodor wants to live in a world where unconditional love can truly exist, where people will have no need to turn on each other to perpetuate crime and the suffering of others. Some place where he can feel less alone, a place where he can feel truly connected to God
18.10.2024 22:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Love can easily be twisted, it is often loved ones who are the victims of crimes from their loved ones. Even if there are people who do genuinely love out there, there will always be sin, suffering, existing somewhere.
Suffering is something imperfect and disharmonious.
Thus, maybe what Fyodor truly wants to feel is to be loved. He is loved by others (when he is admired by them), but not in the way he wants.
In this world it is difficult for a pure kind of love to exist in the first place.
like him so he isn't alone.
Dazai himself even suggests how he and Fyodor belong to completely different worlds compared to the majority of other people, so it wouldn't surprise me if Fyodor really does feel at least this sub-conscious level of loneliness
Since the beginning even, he has often proposed how he and Dazai are alike, this could be interpreted as him just making a surface-level observation that yes, you and I are alike, but you could also interpret it as him subconsciously desiring some sort of relatability, someone
