I will always pick charmander whenever the option arises. He was the first ever Pokemon I had on my team when I was 8/9 years old and heβll always have a special place in my heart (all the Kanto starters are awesome though!). Currently on my Fire Red play-through, making my way through Mt. Moon.

A screenshot from the latest pokemon game. It shows a beach with palm trees behind and a mountain in the distance. There is a green angry-looking chick on the left, an orange Pomeranian in the middle and a blue gecko on the right.
My prediction for the new starter PokΓ©monsβ final evolution typing are:
Browt - Grass/Fighting
Pombon - Fire/Steel
Gecqua - Water/Psychic

Well, for a 30th anniversary announcement it was a little disappointing. Plus itβs so sad that it seems most of the leaks were genuine. People need to stop spreading game content before itβs officially released. It makes it less exciting when the official news comes out.

A collage of photos exploring LGBTQ history
History can be a powerful tool for healing. Finding moments of connection to people in the past can help us feel less alone.
In my day job, I work at a young people's mental health charity. Recently I ran a Hands On Queer History session with staff to help them in their work with queer youth.

My favorite PokΓ©mon: Charizard
Yeah Iβm a basic bitch, but 9 year old me chose Charmander all those years ago and Iβve loved this dragon ever since.

A view across heathland. A tree in the right centre has a single crow sat atop it. Blue skies with partial cloud are above. The sun is setting, casting a soft orange light across the distance.
Exploring Rushmere Heath, the area near Ipswich where Mary Lakeland was executed. Although accused of witchcraft, she was sentenced under βpetty treasonβ (i.e. killing her husband). This meant she was burnt alive, rather than hung. 1645 was a horrific year for women on the margins of society.

Thank you! Thankfully there are more and more books like mine being published, but still only a tiny proportion to represent the queer community.
