While he was distracted, Bakugou asked, “What’s this ritual about anyway?”

“He didn’t tell you?” When the answer was an obvious <i>‘no,’</i> she said, "You're going to become his rider.”

“That legend was true?!” in the back of his mind, he assumed the dragon was lying to him.

She left him to browse over her inventory.

They spoke a bit to each other in the dragon’s tongue, leaving Bakugou standing there looking stupid. He didn’t understand what they were saying exactly, but he caught the gist. She’d point to potions or poisons to explain their use. He looked happy to see what she had to offer.

“Yeah, I have a few prepared for you when I heard you fell,” She gestured to a shelf with many vials filled with different liquids.

“Mina!”

“Is this the omega everyone’s been talking about?”

“Yes! Gem-”

“Bakugou.” He was not letting another person think of him as a <i>‘Gem.’</i>

“-and I need to get some potions from you for the ritual.” It's not the first time Kirishima mentioned something about a ritual.

Golden horns peaking out of her curls of pink, matched her lively eyes. Fur-lined suede coat draped over her shoulders, covering a purple and pink striped dress underneath.

When the curtains pulled back a dragonshifter came into few.Her skin was pale pink, with sparkling shifting-chromatic scales on the tops of her cheek bones that lifted up with each smile.

Flowers braided into long strips of pastel cloth dangling down from the entrance. The warm light from the covered candles in the back drew him in. Colorful patterned carpets layered themselves on the floor. Lightly transparent drapes separated each section, in the back was a figure of a woman.

“Come on. Don’t embarrass me like that.” Kirishima tried to shrug him off.

“How do you want me to embarrass you?”

“Preferably not at all. Come on, Gem. We have to go to the apothecary to get some stuff for the ritual.”

“Yeah, I’ve known him since he was just a little hatching. Him and his brother. They've gotten mighty strong over the years.” Fat placed a large hand on his shoulder, “apparently not strong enough. Be kind to him, he's got a soft soul.”

After a long second, “Good! My boy needs someone to control him.”

“Your boy?”

“Fat here is my mentor!” Kirishima said.

“Oh.” Not his dad.

“Is that so?” A rather large dragonshifter inspected Bakugou closely. Bending down in the middle to stare into his eyes, trying to reach his soul. Bakugou refused to back down, glaring back at him.

“Yes.” Bakugou answered with a grit in his teeth.

“It’s a party celebrating our bond.” Kirishima perked up, waving his hand as he yelled, “Fat!” and people thought Bakugou had bad nicknames for people. “This is my rider.”

“Ah, I thought you’d look different. You’re the child of-”

“His name is Bakugou Katsuki.”

“I figured you wouldn't," Kirishima didn’t want to bring up the bag situation, “So I got it all sorted out for you.”

“You got to be kidding, worm!”

Bakugou asked when they left the kitchen, “What is this ritual anyways?”

“Oh its this huge party, where -”

“Why would I want to go to a party?” It's just going to be a lot of stuffy rules and boring speeches.

“We can eat as much food as we want.”

“I don’t even have clothes for it.”

“Push off!”

“Denks. Be nice.” Kirishima placed his hand on Bakugou’s lower back to guide him out of the cooking area, “We’re going to have a feast tonight.” then emphasized the omega’s thin waist, “We need to put some meat on his bones for the ritual.”

He was another human, just like Bakugou. With the calluses on his hands being more of a bard than a chef. Big word talking about <i>‘scrawny’</i> when his arms are the size of a tooth pick. The branding on his arms meant he was a dragonrider. How he managed to beat one is anyone's guess.

“If that’s what you're into.” The blonde omega was the only one that wasn't a dragonshifter or born in the room.
