Everything they learned in Minnesota they’re applying in Maine from day one. They started off doing fast-moving snatch and grabs on the street, recording and using facial id on observers, and threatening observers directly. They’ll do it all where you live too.

CHARLES RAFFERTY The Problem with Early Warnings People don't like to leave a party unless the house is actually on fire. Even then, if the flames are far enough away to be pretty, they'll finish their drink, take one more pass at the hors d'oeuvres. How things happen has always been unclear. Hurricanes begin in a place where no one lives. Agents of the government start to wear masks. Fascism is a word my neighbors won't use yet. They are following the law, they say, and the sirens are coming for someone else.

This hit so fucking hard today.

To stay organized on my end, I create a spreadsheet with all the important details and meeting links in one. Remind the schools MANY times which timezone you are in - this is one of the easiest mistakes when scheduling. #WRAD #kidlit Have any other tips/questions? /end

Also, build in some wiggle room to your schedule. A long lunch, a break mid-day. Not only will it save your sanity, it gives you space to adjust for last-minute schedule changes. Instead of cancelling with a school that had an issue, I was able to fit them in during a long break. #WRAD #kidlit /3

For authors doing #WRAD, I highly recommend making a signupgenius for the event. It lets schools see your availability and pick a time without the extra step of emailing. #kidlit /2
