I’m immensely proud of their leadership and commitment, especially as they move our motion; ‘Proving’ Disability & Resonable Adjustment Support in challenging delays or refusals.

Today, at the @tuc.org.uk Disabled Workers Conference, the FBU delegation took their seats for the first ever time.

During this time and with the excellent support of the newly formed DND forum and Charlie Batchelor we have produced guidance to officials and have began to organise DND workers across the fire and rescue sector.

Since taking up office in 2023 as the Assistant General Secretary, I’ve had a great privilege to lead on, and develop the @fbunational.bsky.social support to our Disabled and Neurodivergent (DND) members.

The solidarity medal is the highest award given by the Fire Brigades Union. It is awarded to recognise or dispense solidarity, or specific acts of exceptional merit.

60% of fire service workers have reported experiencing mental health problems. To put this into perspective, the red cards represent this shocking statistic.

Delegates at this year's conference discussed the urgent need to improve mental health provision in the fire service.

Two firefighters and one member of the public have been confirmed dead following a fire incident at Bicester, Oxfordshire.

This is terrible news. Our thoughts are with their families, friends and colleagues.

The FBU will be on hand to provide support in the coming days.

The government's announcement this morning was an insult to those who have made the UK their home.

These migrants are not "strangers", they are our friends, neighbours, and family members.

It is shameful that they are being scapegoated in this way.

I am proud of what immigrants like my mum and those across Luton North have given to our country. Many serve in our NHS, open biz, enrich culture/arts & much more.

The best way to avoid becoming an ‘island of strangers’ is investing in communities to thrive - not pitting people against each other.

Upping the fascist rhetoric will not challenge the Reform Party. Showing working class people (which includes migrants) that you represent their concerns will. Having a strategy to deliver for working people will.

This new training college will pave the way in terms of revolutionising how our Firefighters train in Northen Ireland.

There’s an Academic Building, Ship, Railway, Tactical Firefighting Facility, Mock Fire Station, Motorway, Flood Water Facility and differing domestic, high rise and commercial buildings to use for breathing apparatus exercises.

The new Northern Ireland Fire Service training facility is fantastic. It shows directly how investing in our public services shall improve outcomes for our communities.

80 years since Europe's #liberation, we remember resistance - not as history, but a responsibility. EPSU marked the day by cleaning Brussels' stolpersteine and saying: no to fascism, not then, not now.
