Y'all, as a kid who grew up food-insecure, plz don't do this. There is nothing more demoralizing as a little kid than being reminded of your family's poverty. We looked forward to Halloween bc it was the 1 chance to be like every other kid and get access to treats the food banks never gave out.

Son1's 2nd attempt at cinnamon French toast was wildly successful this morning. He was so happy he could send his friend off with something satisfying this morning. I also made him some sandwiches for his bus trip home.
