I think Cally is talking about the UK. Some women over 30 were afforded the vote in 1918, but it wasn't until 1928 that women were given the vote on the same terms as men.

Very rainy accidental progression run: final 2k were rage-fuelled after a man outside a pub blocked my way and shouted at me. He seemed shocked and stammered an apology when I stopped to remonstrate. Only to start shouting again once I was a safe distance away. Big man! #running #RunSky

14.02.2026 19:31 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I had bowel cancer last year at 49, just under the new screening age in England. it's very treatable if caught in time as mine was (just!). I was lucky: fast acting GP and excellent NHS care. Now surveillance. Also, don't fear the colonoscopy, they aren't fun, but they aren't as bad as all that.
11.02.2026 23:19 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I've got one that follows me about on my allotment after the insects I dig up. When I was little my neighbour had one in their garden that would sit on your hand for snacks. They are one of my favourite birds.

27.01.2026 19:37 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Fortunately with European robins it's probably just curiosity. They are very tame birds and will often follow gardeners around waiting to get the worms they unearth. Will often feed from a hand. They are pretty hardy over the winter here.

Aside from the title and author, the cover features a cartoon white person with short black hair and blank glasses (eyes not visible). They are wearing a blue checked shirt, open, with a red t shirt emblazoned with a lightning bolt. The background consists of various images from comic books. There is a quotation on the cover: "A remarkable new Baedecker of the toons" - Garry Trudeau, New York Times Book Review

If you need a break from the news, here is The Luggage, crocheted for my eldest for Hogswatch: we both love Pratchett. Intricate pattern by Patricia Westergaard on Ravelry, made in Scheepjes Catona yarn. #Discworld #Crochet #CrochetSky
