Brit/Texan/Indian. I skeet about politics A LOT. I’m a feminist who is obsessed w/the Humanities. All of them. I get kinda (non religiously) preachy sometimes. Apologies in advance.

I’m Indian American, love both tea & coffee, & I have an autoimmune disease so I limit my dairy due to inflammation. This is my perfect beverage.

I know it’s been said time & time again but if Trump were sent to destroy the US & the post-WW2 order, would he be doing anything differently?

Several Dead After Massive Avalanche of Garbage Collapses at Landfill Jakarta is still after an avalanche at the city's largest landfill killed at least five people Sunday night, with at least four more suspected missing.

Not to be callous (in that people died) but considering *everything* right now, I feel like this checks out. Also, if I die in a garbage avalanche, I’m hanging back to haunt some people.

This is a really good answer. My husband & I started dating 17 years ago. He’s made it clear that he’s always up for it. I’d like to be but it doesn’t work like that for me. Communicating helps me not feel guilt over something I can’t control.

Thousands of Travelers Stranded in Europe Today as Denmark, UK, France, Germany, Spain Cancel 333 Flights and Delay 2,396 New Affecting Ryanair, KLM, British, Qatar, El Al and Other Airlines at Copenh... Thousands of travelers stranded in Europe as Ryanair, KLM, British and more cancel 333 flights and delay 2,396 at key airports face travel disruptions.

All of this is bad but I especially feel for the 1st & last time Ryanair passengers. Ryanair. The airline that loses your luggage AFTER you land. I mean people don’t really need their suitcase contents on trips. This is also how I learned 3 days of birth control in my carry on is not sufficient.

“Two artillery shells struck the same residential home on the outskirts of Olayaa. The first wounded a homeowner and his wife. Father Pierre rushed to the scene alongside Red Cross paramedics and neighbors. The second shell hit while they were tending to the injured.”

This is my order. Dairy triggers chronic pain. I want to knock this guy upside the head.

I order chai with oat milk. I’m destroying society one beverage at a time.

I had a car wreck before she passed & spent a fortune on rentals while she was hospitalized. My grandma was marked w/luck & she always worried about me. Her 4 kids gifted us her car & my husband said “I think she gave you some of that luck on her way out.” I immediately started sobbing.

I mentioned pound shops to my husband recently & his reply was “Oh, like pound town?” 😉

(Pound Shop = Dollar Store)

Something similar happened to me after my grandmother passed. I was the oldest & closest to her. In the weeks that followed, lost objects kept showing up. A charm on my desk, a signed, subscription for Nat Geo on my kitchen table. I hadn’t seen the latter since my 10th birthday.

The last time I was in the UK I made a point to mention it. Did the same w/Bush Jr. Circa 2019, I had 1 guy kinda come at me for being Am. By the end of it, we were bonding over childhood in Tanzania. When someone else asked if I was Am, he replied “No, mate, she’s one of us.”

One of the best political convos I’ve ever had was w/a stranger in a bar in Ireland. I also visit family in London every few yrs & 1 of the things I enjoy most is speaking to Londoners about politics & current events. I’m pretty aware but I always learn something new. Here, I’m usually introverted.

What is the ‘acid rain’ in the wake of US bombings in Iran? An atmospheric scientist explains This rain would include acids but also likely many other pollutants harmful to humans and the environment. It may be worse than the term ‘acid rain’ conveys.

I have several friends who are still in hospitality & totally get it. I would have absolutely gone back if I hadn’t had complications following a long illness. I still occasionally event bartend as a side hustle. It’s a great skill & transferable w/tons of options.

Feminist as a term had negative connotations for a really long time. A lot of women didn’t understand it meant equality for that reason. My mom went to private school in India & got her chemistry degree in the UK. “Feminist” wasn’t a common term in my culture until later.

I haven’t read Animal Farm since high school & had completely forgotten about this. It’s so ridiculously on point in respect to msm coverage.

Absolutely. My husband is atheist but grew up S. Baptist. He told me some S. Baptist preachers tell their congregations that people at other S. Baptist churches in town are going to hell to keep them from going elsewhere. These people are used to following con men & now it’s everyone’s problem.

His parents still refuse to vaccinate even though my mother in law has Parkinson’s. It’s a whole thing but they absolutely do not believe it was correlated b/c of their church. Anyways, my point here is the grift doesn’t matter b/c too many Am’s are in a legitimate cult. They think God sent him.

A family member who married in on my husband’s side has parents who are extremely religious. He’s a liberal, Atheist. His parents church told them Trump is fighting a holy war to bring back Jesus. His sister died last yr. 40’s, 3 kids, diagnosed w/dementia after multiple covid infections.

I paid off 20K in student loans while bartending in my 20’s. Almost all of my coworkers had degrees & some had their masters. Since cost of living was lower, my income stretched further than when I was making 6 figures in corp & it was during the 2008 recession.

My family immigrated to the US from the UK & I attended a really good high school. 2nd year, we had the option of 1 year of world history OR geography. Latter was taught by a coach & they were given open book tests. I took honors history. Later learned geography on my own.

My mom didn’t vote until I was of voting age. I made her watch Iron Jawed Angels (despite historical inaccuracy) to get her to understand. She used to yell at me for being a feminist & was v naive in respect to progress. She’s now a proud feminist as well as an ally to LGBTQ kids in our community.

Her conservative in laws & cousins appear to be fine as do both conservative & non political parents & neighbors. She & most of her friends are upper middle class but they’re also just reg people. Maybe it’s a glitch but I don’t know. I didn’t trust them prior & I certainly don’t now.
