18.02.2026 11:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I once taught four sections of comp on T/Th. So confusing. My husband teaches high school and it wears him out.
18.02.2026 02:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No, we donβt, because they would dissolve into tears and get their parents to call the dean to demand they get another chance.

08.02.2026 04:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hi there, fellow white people (especially my fellow white dudes)! It's Black History Month, and all of us who have lived in the privilege bubble our entire lives should get educated! Every day this month, 28daysofblackhistory.com drops a new story in your inbox. Every single one of them is amazing.

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Yearβs Eve. And like RenΓ©e Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.
I need yβall to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.
What a fucking ghoul. Itβs like yesterday never happening for that mouthbreathing idiot

26.12.2025 23:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I had a student in 1987-ish, when I was a grad assistant, who was very angry about the C- on his exam and was giving me intimidating body language, and I was worried he might punch me, but no, being shot never occurred to me then. I started worrying about it during the Bush admin, actually.
24.12.2025 20:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Absolutely. I teach composition and I am not giving up on actually teaching people how to write.

13.12.2025 02:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Black-and-white 1922 studio portrait of astronomer Annie Jump Cannon in profile, facing left. She is a middle-aged woman with her hair styled in an elegant, voluminous Gibson-girl updo with soft curls framing the top and sides. She wears a lace-trimmed blouse with intricate floral embroidery on the shoulders and sleeves. The photograph has a classic, softly lit, formal quality typical of early 20th-century portrait photography
American astronomer Annie Jump Cannon was born #OTD in 1863.
Co-credited with the creation of the Harvard Classification Scheme that organizes/classifies stars by their temperature & spectral type. She classified >300,000 stars & her system is still used today.

Iβm really glad I bought an EV last year. I love it, and itβs good to see itβs making a difference overall.
09.12.2025 18:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My GP suggested magnesium glycinate, which wears to help with anxiety-based insomnia and that does seem to help.
07.12.2025 13:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For me, it felt mostly smooth as a student, BUT I was uncritical of it and very compliant/people-pleading. As a faculty member, I still think itβs a privileged kind of work, but itβs been much, much more of a fight to improve the institution and feel like my efforts are worth it.
