Colin and Cameron reappointed to Board We're delighted to confirm that Colin Hosie and Cameron Watson have been reappointed to the board of Dumbarton Football Club. Colin, who has dedicated much of his life to serving on the club board has been appointed vice-chairman, and his focus will be on the DFCCT and the partnership with the club to deliver an artificial pitch next summer. Colin will also take an active role in other community activities at the club, and provide advice and support on Scottish football earned from his 30 years of experience in the game. Colin said: "I am honoured to accept the invitation to serve once again as a Director and Vice Chairman of DFC, I deeply appreciate the trust and confidence Mario and the Board has placed in me. "Having previously held this position, I look forward to contributing my experience, energy, and commitment to support the continued growth and success of the Club on and off the pitch. "I am eager to work collaboratively with fellow board members to achieve our shared goals and further the interests of the Sons for supporters and sponsors and making the Club much more of focal point in the local and wider community. "I hope we will attract more local talent to both our First Team squads and continue to improve our player pathwayThank you once again for this opportunity. I look forward to resuming my role and continuing to serve with dedication." Meanwhile Cameron, formerly the Sonstrust director on the club board, has been appointed as an Executive Director with responsibility for the operations and overall running of DFC - partnering with the board and owner Mario Lapointe in doing so. There will be a focus to increase revenue stream across the club to create a solid foundation where the club can stand alone and which will ultimately feed in our playing squads. He will also focus on promoting the club in the community and to commercial partners with Brian Welsh. Cam said: "Joining the old board I knew there would be challenges but never imagined what would follow. There were some real low points over the last year but my North Star was always to keep the club alive and the 'lights on' along with the administrators until a new owner was found. "We had lucked out with that as with Mario we have a charismatic guy who has taken Dumbarton to his heart. I am proud to stay on in the new role to build the club back up. Chairman John Steele and Colin bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and connections in running a club. "It’s great to have them onboard while adding new and diverse experience with Brian, Fraser Clarke, Jordan Brownlee and Mhairi Macleod. All backed by Mario of course. There are three areas we must focus on, increasing the Fanbase and presence in our community, increasing the usage of our facilities over seven days and likely the most important to our fans across the men's', women's' and youth teams. Success on the park with local boys and girls coming through to the senior team. "Lastly I would say I want to hear from you, good, bad, indifferent. We will only know if things are working on not though talking and listening to everyone."
