Word of the day is β€˜suspiring’, from the 16th century: a deep sigh.

(Covers exhaustion, relief, sadness, collapses onto the sofa, or whatever fits the bill).

Asking "What Matters to you?" will drive the change in moving care closer to home. Shift from hospital not only improves quality but saves money. @sheffielddoc.bsky.social @gerisoc.bsky.social #BGSConf #ChooseGeriatrics

Development and national implementation of eFI-2 - ARC Currently, the UK and international guidelines support routine identification of frailty in primary care to enable timely and targeted care for older people.

not sure it passes the sniff test
Nevertheless it IS a big impact
it WONT be solved by a combo of personal responsibility and industry self regulation

I’m not going to leave X just yet - I hate that sense of being driven away from a place I used to love. But after one day on here, I already know how much prefer it.

So if you see this and would be kind enough to share it to let people find me, that would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

I maybe should have mentioned that #havetheconversation is a big interest of mine…

CPR is not a treatment for #ordinarydying. Please, please sort out the protection of a DNACPR/DNR for someone whose life is coming to its end, before it’s too late.

Spending and the balance of care has always flowed back to the acute sector, so it'll be a big challenge to make the shift from "hospital to community" happen.

Better care at the end of life: we need to change the conversation Far too many people are being denied their right to autonomous decision making at the end of their lives. This stubborn reality seems hard to shift, despite years of guidance supporting professionals ...

www.bmj.com/content/386/... Important points here. Massive shift in public perception also required - eg carers being valued, time off work to care. Even when wishes documented it’s hard to turn them into reality particularly due to social isolation, lack of care availability.
