This is, of course, what happens when we allow straight gentrification of gay men's stories in books & TV to crowd out authentic gay stories written by gay men. An expectation that gay blokes are acceptable characters as long as we dont do anything dirty like, you know, actually having sex with men.

This is one of my favourite 1 star reviews of my books ever (KOD). I just have this visual of this reader reading this very-clearly-labelled gay book, then seeing the term "pre-cum" in a gay sex scene and flying into an enraged convulsion, slamming the book shut in fury (DNF means Did Not Finish).

I've been a Johnny Cash fan since I was 17 & saw "Walk the Line". I like his music but also his outlaw attitude & I've always related hard to his life & struggles. "Hurt" is one of the most moving songs I know. It cuts me every time.
