The summer lilac bushes are a favourite along the bees and the butterflies. I can spend all day gazing out at the hols and the woods and the local wildlife creating a ruckus outside!

First attempt at #pleinair #watercolourpainting from a couple of weekends ago. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience even though the painting itself got a little too overworked than I prefer because I made some mistakes with the shadows. Definitely recommend painting out in the open!

scratchy and frustrating because of low quantity and quality of pigments and won't add to the experience. But you also don't need artist grade expensive ones! :)

I'm afraid the only way is to power through. Wc have a steep learning curve, and gain of control while slow and subtle, definitely come. Try doing 'studies/exercises' without any expectations except to simply finish. Use a decent set of paints, but student grade - extremely cheap paints can feel

'Plein-air'-ed this one literally leaning out of my window to paint the peonies blooming below. Mostly done with wet-in-wet watercolour and some negative painting. It reminds me of Manet's peonies, a favourite!

When I started this account, I was pretty sure I'd be ignoring it a lot and I was right. I really can't juggle a lot of social media but honestly, this platform is pretty neat and straight forward, and I hope I can get more active on it.

It's not rude if you asked nicely. I don't agree with the 'holding secrets' attitude some artists have - because most times it just boils down to techniques and there's nothing new or unique about techniques. Also, some are just indifferent to interaction. I'd say, don't take it personally.

I kinda think it looks cool even in the ugly phase! 😄
