I actually thought maybe I'd forgotten to take my meds--the difference was that stark. And it wasn't necessarily the negativity, I think. Some of it was the "everything is perfect in our lives right now and I just baked sourdough to celebrate" crowd too.

It's interesting because I was just mentioning in the wee hours this morning how quickly depression and anxiety set in after scrolling Facebook for 10 minutes after sending a message to a friend. I don't go on there other than to message people so I forget how toxic it is for me.

Plus, if I'm in a medical situation, my body has become a "thing" in my mind. It's a sort of coping mechanism because I was raised with an extremely conservative view of personal modesty and because I'm a survivor of sexual assault.

This thread reminds me of something that recently happened. My niece was retaping my shoulder and I was only wearing a sport camisole with one strap down. Her boyfriend walked into the room and she apologized later if that'd made me uncomfortable because she hadn't warned him to stay out. 1/

It's cold and rainy, and my partner is making a ham while I get some work done (thank you, you're amazing), and he's playing the Charlie Brown Christmas music, and maybe everything is terrible, but this is wonderful and cozy
