Hockney created these works outdoors, finding it an antidote to the anxieties of the time. 
The paintings showcase the changing landscape from late winter to early summer. 
The style and technique are reminiscent of Impressionists like Monet.

I was working a shift on a bar once and realised that song had been playing constantly for 45 minutes, the CD skipped at a perfect loop point near the end. I was then driven insane because the bar was so busy I couldn't communicate to any other staff members to fix it.
