i think the only issue is that he was presented as way too menacing and then he just fucked off to the cage

the other characters you mentioned got to be explored afterwards with their interactions, having to (at first) reluctantly work with the heroes and then grow into more fleshed out characters

I been in love with a franchise I didn't get to play up until this year, managed to play Splatoon 1 on my Wii U and never got a chance to play any of the games up until this year, when my sister bought a switch and I manage to convince her Splatoon was badass.
