It is difficult for me to find the words to describe what we face every day in refugee camps as the
LGBTQ Community
The worst feeling is when you are insulted, assaulted, beaten and wronged.

Tears fall like rain, heart shattered into a million pieces. Living in a camp, facing discrimination, and enduring homophobic attacks... and now, no home to call my own. The weight of the world is crushing me. Will anyone hear my cry, see my pain, and offer a safe haven?"

As a proud LGBTQ+ person, I have faced many struggles, but I refuse to be silenced. Being a refugee has made life even harder, as I fight for my safety and survival every day in a place that does not accept me. Despite the challenges, I stand strong in my truth. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

Love and respect know no boundaries. Supporting LGBTQ+ people doesn’t take away from anyone it creates a world where everyone belongs.

Homophobia is a poison that divides, but love is a force that unites. No one should be hated for who they are or who they love. Love is not a crime. Love is not a threat. Love is a human right.

Being an LGBTQ+ refugee in South Sudan is not easy. For the past seven years, I have faced fear, discrimination, and uncertainty in a country that is both unsafe and deeply homophobic.

Homophobia doesn’t just harm individualsit fractures families and communities. Many LGBTQ+ people are disowned by their families, kicked out of their homes, or forced to flee their countries. This loss of support makes survival even harder.

Homophobia has no place in a just and equal society. Love is love respect and support everyone for who they are.
