Of course it's books aimed at and read by mostly women. As if women don't get shit on about literally anything that's liked by them.
What would BookTube be without BookTok. Maybe they should go back to what they did before the clock app.
BookTube is literally 80% of just
"I read this popular book, so you don't have to"
and then make it their mission to shit on said book, while not getting and not addressing why these books are popular in the first place. And so subtly implying that everyone who reads it is stupid, illiterate,
So, they are divorced, but Trump still calls his ex-wife "beautiful wife" as if nothing happened? Or is this post from Trumps last presidency? (there's no date)
If it's new it implies once more, that the new regime does not recognize divorce and will probably get rid of it, as Project 2025 showcases
My monthly reading wrap-up.
Not as busy. Didn't have that much time to read, and it took me forever to finish Fool's Errand.
Onyx Storm was WILD and I read it in 3 days. Thoroughly enjoyed it, too.
Let's see what February brings.

That feeling of reading a book as fast as you can to see how it ends, but also not wanting it to be over. π #booksky

So it begins. Printed, folded and pressed the fanfic Fire Lily by @problematicphd.bsky.social
Took me just about one year to fiddle with the typeset π
In the end I opted for a stencil font for the title and very little extras. Simple and classic, with a touch of the rebellious.

Csn women in turn decide about vasectomies, prostate problems and erectile disfunction? As it relates to them as well?

What's the genre, what's the premise and what can I expect. All genres come with their own set of tropes. Sifting through mountains of trash it's not wrong to know what a book entails and get a hint if it's something I would enjoy before buying it.
So, guess I am happily deranged then ππ
I'm a reader. And readers do care about tropes π€·

So there's over dramatic people on here too, apparently.
"I'm not like other girls... I swear."
No more hot takes how reading is dead, because two (2! T-W-O) creators made a tiktok claiming to skip paragraphs and complaining about too many words on a page.
π₯Ί
Just had a thought. If the #tiktokban goes into effect, what will all the #booktube people post about if there's no booktok-trending books to roast into oblivion in 7h long videos, or latest booktok drama to milk and dissect. Oh! And no more "gross smut" to judge people about. π€
18.01.2025 10:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think we have to just face the facts that a lot of big and beloved creators will disappear as well. Either because their community gets scattered and/or the new platform doesn't boost or favor their style and format.
It's the end of an era. (2/2)
#tiktokban
If TikTok gets banned in the US it reminds me of Vine. Where the algorithm and the format just didn't work on any other platforms. Vine-creators flooded YouTube back then. Some were able to adapt and carce their niche, but the majority of HUGE creators on Vine just disappeared. (1/2)
#tiktokban
That would incorporate Meta, X and YouTube, too. Anything that isn't decentralized, I guess.
So where to go, that would have similar features like TikTok? π
I find it fascinating how exactly two videos about skipping paragraphs were ever made on TikTok and everyone on YouTube used exactly only these two videos repeatedly and called it "TikTok is bad because everyone doesn't actually read"
It's clickbait meets "if you repeat it enough it becomes true"
Say it louder for the people in the back. You can leave the readers out of it.
