he scans the chat for a moment, taking this time to take a break. then his eyes spot a very familiar username.

“you guys are really persistent today.” yoo joonghyuk comments, pausing his game for a moment.

which is a feat in itself since yoo joonghyuk NEVER pauses. much less address any issues within his community. if you’d even called this an “issue”.

it’s been a few weeks and there’s been a change.

he’s a bit more livlier, his chat says. even though he doesn’t show emotions, his chat has scrutinized every single pixel of his face and came to the conclusion he’s happier.

why? they have no idea.

then yoo joonghyuk’s eyes snap open, and he realizes he fell asleep right after guwon’s last note.

as he sings the last “love”, guwon gasps. it’s emotional. like he’s poured his entire heart into this song just for yoo joonghyuk.

call him parasocial, but he could understand how people could grow attached to streamers now.

as yoo joonghyuk predicted, guwon’s voice sounds perfect for this song. he finds himself sinking into his pillows, his thoughts just full of guwon’s voice as it lulls him to sleep.

he fights it, however, wanting to hear the end of the song— and it doesn’t disappoint.

yoo joonghyuk jolts from his layed-down position and quickly types.

“love wins all— wow, you’re very romantic, plotter-nim.” guwon sounds amused, but clears his throat. “very well, let’s start~”

yoo joonghyuk moves back to his bed, and has the foresight to plug in his laptop before placing it on his bedstand. now he wouldn’t have to worry about his laptop losing battery.

“does anyone have any requests before i sing my set list?”

he goes on to tell how his day has been. the chat is engaging, despite being only about 15 viewers, including yoo joonghyuk himself. he wasn’t a chatter, but guwon kept it engaging.

he wouldn’t be surprised if guwon became a big streamer in the future.

“well, enough of me talking, let’s sing.”

“sad?” guwon sounds surprised reading someone’s chat. “i’m not sad, just annoyed i think.”

:what happened?

“my stupid boss yelled at me today.” guwon clicks his tongue, “as if it was my fault.”

the chat is filled with greetings. yoo joonghyuk decides to greet him as well.

“ah, it’s you again— secretiveplotter-nim?” guwon chuckles at his username, and yoo joonghyuk feels just a BIT embarrassed. a bit, is all. “it’s nice to see you too.”

his leg bounces as he waits for it to turn on, quickly typing in his password, then searching for guwon’s channel on StarStream in record time.

he finds it just as the clock hits 10PM, and a new live pops up on his channel. yoo joonghyuk clicks, joining in the other viewers.

when he gets home after a sponsor meeting, he practically flops onto his bed and checks the time.

9:57PM.

yoo joonghyuk forgets his exhaustion and gets up from his bed to turn on his laptop. the laptop he only uses for work— but he couldn’t bother turning on his entire PC setup.

after scouring through guwon’s channel for around 30 minutes, he finally gets up and gets ready for the day.

yoo joonghyuk contemplates on sharing this channel on his own stream, but decided against it. that wouldn’t be fair now, would it? what if guwon didn’t want to be known by that many people? would he even handle the bullshit half his chat even says?

he doesn’t want to think about it.

he subscribes, then looks through the channel to find more about this guwon.

he unfortunately doesn’t find much, just that he began streaming just a month ago and that it always lasts for around two hours. at least he had a decent following of a thousand.

that’s a bit unfair— he should have more.

soon enough, just as he sings the chorus, yoo joonghyuk’s eyes fall shut.

when he wakes up, it’s right on time, but his phone’s battery has been depleted to 4%.

he jolts up, quickly plugging it in and turning his phone on. luckily he was still on the stream and autoplay hadn’t kicked in.

even guwon’s laugh sounded nice in yoo joonghyuk’s ears. he could hear a keyboard being typed on before guwon clears his throat.

the first notes of the song comes in, and yoo joonghyuk lays back on his bed. he places his phone just beside his head as he allows guwon’s voice to fill the silent air.

then he realizes he’s on his side account and his heart rate returns to normal.

“hm? a new chatter, thank you.” guwon’s voice perks up despite it sounding a bit tired just a while ago. “eyes, nose, lips? one of the classics, i see.”
