I was delighted to welcome First Minister, Michelle O'Neill and Deputy First Minister, Emma Little-Pengelly, for a meeting with Chancellor Emeritus #SenatorMitchell.

It was a great opportunity to reflect upon Senator Mitchell's role in the negotiations that helped secure peace for #NorthernIreland.

Queen’s receives Boeing investment to propel aerospace engineering into the future The investment builds on Belfast's proud tradition of aeronautical engineering and will see the creation of a state-of-the-art laboratory at the University.

Statement reads: I had a positive and constructive meeting with Department for the Economy NI Minister and Queen's University Belfast alumna, Dr Caoimhe Archibald MLA today. This was an important engagement on finance and the upcoming budget allocations alongside an important discussion on the impact of the university’s teaching and research projects which contribute over £3 billion to the economy. Additionally, we provided an overview of our progress on the Belfast Region City Deal at Queen's University Belfast flagship projects and our Civic University programmes, including Widening Participation and the QCAP Queen's Communities and Place projects based across Belfast. We reaffirmed our commitment to work together in partnership to enhance the socioeconomic wellbeing of the region and I look to a further meeting to discuss our shared priorities before the end of this academic term.
