I wanna be clear I don't hate art content creators, we are truly in debt to people who make tutorials and walkthroughs accessible, but there's a certain class of content creators who take those people's content and then throw around the accusations of gatekeeping to brighten their own spotlights.

I remember one video that was like EASTERN COLOUR THEORY SECRET THE WEST DOESNT KNOW. The secret was there's warm and cool reds, blues, yellows, etc...My brother in Western art education, there is a reason why a standard water colour palette contains both a sap green and viridian.

It's just disrespectful to everyone imo to call the very community that taught them how to get their asses out there and hustle gatekeepers. Most of the time they don't even have to ask! The community gives advice via vlogs, blogs, social media, discord, panels and conversation all the time.

I absolutely despise content creators who take information freely given to them by other artists regarding artistry and business, and community and repackage it as "TOP 5 TIPS IM GIVING TO YOU BECAUSE IM NOT A GATEKEEPER" as if complimentary colours and Vograce are top secrets no one talks about.

Real serious artist will re-attempt several times. Hell, even after you graduate from art school you will be getting REJECTION upon REJECTION letters from magazines, galleries, other schools, events, jobs, everything. Hitler tried ONCE. Why? Well there's a very common theory:

I know people who've been out of work for 3 years, major studios have folded, work has shifted from creative to other departments. People recently fired have found themselves on the hostile alien planet that is hiring, we're taking classes on how to rewrite resumes with AI so another AI can read it.

I feel really tired, I had a great year last year. This year I worked twice as hard and it's a worse year. Artistically I feel I'm doing so much better, but at the end of the day there's metrics that absolutely do make an impact. Some stuff is out of my control but others are mistakes/sacrifices.
