Ohio parents of kids with disabilities are receiving letters from the school board demanding they pay “extra” for their disabled children.

This is ableism and discrimination at its finest.

They weren’t even given adequate warning. Just 17 days to pay up.

This country used to have laws basically banning visibly disabled people from being in public, known as ugly laws. Now, we pretend we believe in equality, but meanwhile we have policies indicating disabled people don't have the right to fresh air!

Medicare literally only covers wheelchairs if needed for a series of specific tasks inside the home and not if it's just necessary to, say, go to the doctor or even get the mail. Not only that, but it requires a face to face visit with a Medicare doctor first. www.medicare.gov/publications...

Pretty sure nonprofit organizations are the real undeserving poor. This country is such a disaster that you can't even get a wheelchair in a humane way! It is the 21st century! You can get a robot to clean your floors for $300!
