Disappointing to see the BBC getting the basics wrong, here. Kuljeet Singh Momi is neither the majority shareholder in Panjab Warriors nor Morecambe - he's not even the largest shareholder in PW.

PW have bought about 76% of Morecambe. Momi owns 42.5% of Panjab, giving him about 33% of Morecambe.

While this sounds hopeful, it was never in doubt that the group that had EFL approval would receive it from the National League. And so nothing has actually changed - indeed, nothing will change until the deal is completed.

As of now, no directors have been appointed.

Goldring doesn't own part of Morecambe and has no right to act in a directorial or ownership capacity. He has no entitlement to be part of those negotiations nor approval of the relevant authorities.

Which leads one to wonder if facts about Morecambe's ownership and finances have been concealed.

Jason Whittingham is perhaps the worst owner in English professional football. Morecambe deserves not just better than him - that's a low, low bar - but an owner set up to rebuild the club and then help move it forward.

To my mind, all we really know about PW is they aren't Jason Whittingham.

With two months wages unpaid, outstanding Vat liabilities, and no communication between the owner and any prospective buyer, it seems hard to imagine what assurances financial or otherwise Jason Whittingham could give to the National League.

And given that, the NL's options are limited.

Well, if anything, it makes Monday and even bigger deadline.

Any assurances he offers will be worthless if he can't show he's not going to miss payday two months in a row.

People's lives are being ruined because Jason Whittingham gambled and lost, but doesn't have the gumption and decency to admit it and to accept the consequences of his actions.

I'm not lawyer, so I have no idea. I don't think he could afford to buy them out (he owns 80%) and nor are they objecting to any specific buyer - they just want it done. As to the delay, you may well be right.

The only news that followed was the previous bidders, jilted rubes the Panjab Warriors threatened to sue. Since then, nothing.

The next 24 hours will define the future of this club, its people, and its legacy. From the Panjab Warriors side, everything is ready. Our legal team has confirmed that all documentation has been complete since last week, all conditions have been met, and funds are in place. The sale is sec- onds away from completion-all that is required is Jason Whittingham's signature. Ye despite reaching this final moment, Morecambe FC is being held hostage. We now suspect the clu is used as leverage in unrelated personal financial matters-a move that threatens its very sur Starf remain unpaid, tension is mounting, and the impact on morale within the club is growing by the hour. Critical financial deadlines are being missed. Morecambe FC is now on life support. As stated by the Club: Outstanding Payroll - £131,000. This has been overdue since June 28, and it is unimaginable the pain this is causing to everyone at MFC. VAT - £45,000. This is due to be paid before Wednesday, July 9 (Today) to HMRC. The Panjab Warriors have been fully approved by the EFL, and all funds-source and sufficiency-have been cleared. Over the past 14 months, we have continuously supported the club financially, providing £1.7 million in working capital, in addition to the £3.8 million purchase sum. We believe the undisclosed mention of so-called investors at this late stage is misleading and potentially fraudulent. We issue this final appeal to Jason Whittingham: Sign the paperwork.
