And it was particularly appalling to see a Democratic member of the General Assembly attacking these Supervisors with tweet last night implying they are paid too much. I'm not sure about you, but I am okay paying my elected leaders $123K per year to oversee and manage a $6 billion county budget.

It is disappointing to see other Democratic elected officials attacking these public servants for actually stepping up and doing their jobs. Real leaders have to work with both the cost and revenue side of the budget.

Kudos to the Democratic majority on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for making the tough choices amidst severe revenue challenges and competing demands, and preparing a budget that -- among other things -- increases the allocation to the school system by $119M.

Let's end the ridiculous rhetoric from pro-casino folks that opponents are just “those people” up in “that part of the county”

This “us vs. them” mindset is divisive and contrary to who we are as FC residents.
