Yes, I know this isn't like honours grad but this is still my first time getting something like this. (Plus I still have the CGPA for it so will update once it happens 🤞)

To me, this represents a culmination of who I've grown to become - someone who grew to find hope in others who then found it in themselves. As a mature, 1st-gen Canadian student, I'm proud to finally give my parents (and extending farming family) something to brag about for years to come.

I had given up on myself so it made sense that others did too. Didn't help that Covid hit me during a transitional point in my life, as it did for many others I'm sure. Even though I eventually picked up my certs I was still embarassed that it felt like I was still in a dead-end.

I'm very whelmed right now. A decade prior I would have never believed I'd ever achieve anything past highschool graduation, if even that. I grew up never fully committing to things and pushed blame onto everything around me - education system, toxic familial expectations, cynicism.
